Info

The site of Paris Las Vegas was originally home to the Galaxy Motel and a small strip mall, which included the Little Caesar’s casino and a sports book known as Churchill Downs. On May 16, 1995, Bally Entertainment announced plans for the Paris resort, initially expected to begin construction that year and open in late 1997. The resort was planned as an extension of the adjacent Bally’s Las Vegas.

Construction officially began on April 18, 1997, with Perini Building Company as the general contractor. During construction, Bally Entertainment was acquired by Hilton, which later transferred its gaming properties, including Paris and Bally’s, to Park Place Entertainment. Park Place was eventually rebranded as Caesars Entertainment in 2003.

Paris Las Vegas opened on September 1, 1999, after a private VIP party attended by Nevada governor Kenny Guinn, Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman, French actress Catherine Deneuve, and businessman Donald Trump. The $785 million resort employed 4,200 workers upon opening and targeted a middle-class clientele, distinguishing itself from the luxury resorts emerging on the Strip at the time.
In 2024, Caesars renovated a hotel tower from its neighboring Horseshoe Las Vegas resort and incorporated it into Paris Las Vegas, increasing its total room count from 2,916 to 3,672.
